Ode To Parents, Mama, and Papa

I love you mom and dad
Trust me, you never failed me
You made me strong, willing to take life by the horns, and never quit
And thank you for the greatest gift, humility
 
One of life’s ambiguities…
The continual sacrifice of things you hold most important to your heart
And it is because love itself allows you trust enough…
To give away a piece of your soul
 
Parents are the most underrated dynamic of life
They are beyond sacred and beloved
They are mature, tender, and understanding
Because although they are set in their ways…
The direction of their heart is through their children
 
With a parent
There is no need to use big words or run a marathon
For a parent to be a happy…
Their child just needs to find their own way to genuine bliss
 
You know there is a sequence in life called marriage
And part of that sequence is loving your spouse and children above all else
 
And parents are able to unconditionally
Trust part of their soul in someone else’s hands
And when done right, they gain another child
 
We are who we decide to be
But don’t you ever forget the influence that our parents have on us
Because their will power and ability to shape our diversity of thought
Is transcendent and tangible
 
My parents are strong beyond all measures
One mother and father
Who accept me
Love me
And fight for me

No Contingencies
Just the one condition of life, and is to unconditionally, give their life for their babies
 
I want my parents to know that I thank them
And more importantly love them
I thank them for being so unselfish to the point…
Where I can love my wife and children more than them, but they still put me first
 
Where I can dance like a fool
And they tell me I am ready to conquer the dance floor
Where I hold the ball to my favorite sport
And they fight for me, when it is game time
 
To humble myself beyond all measures
Because our parents are the epitome of it
The paragon of sacrifice
The illustration of unselfishness
 
I thank all parents
Because they do one phenomenal job
They are the fortress of our safety
And a direct line of support
 
I look in the mirror, I see the strength of my mother
I talk to people, I see the humility of my father
I see my spouse working, I see the fortitude of my mother in law
I see my spouse advise, I see the acceptance of my father in law
 
Newsflash, a regret of life
Is never appreciating your parents for what and who they are
And what is that
The most unselfish people in this world
 
So be aware, ignorance is not an excuse
Always appreciate them
 
Next time you think of your parents
Kiss your mom
Hug your dad
Take them out
And never forget, that you are a walking piece of them
 
Through you, they never pass on
They are a driving force beyond all measures
An energy that makes us a better place
