Quick Health Tip – Physical Activity Risks

There are risks to physical activity, therefore, if we educate ourselves on some of the risks we may modify our exercise routines to ensure we get the full benefits of physical fitness and activity. We must remember there are risks in anything we do, even drinking water. If over exercising or improper technique of exercises is present, common injuries include:
  • Cartilage Deterioration
  • Tendonitis – Tendon inflammation
  • Plantar Fasciitis – Inflammation on the bottom of the food
  • Shin Splints
  • Bursitis – Inflammation of the bursa, which is a fluid-filled sac that acts as a cushion surrounding synovial joints
  • Epicondylitis – Inflammation of the muscles around the epicondyle (around the elbow)
  • Hyperthermia – Abnormally high body temperature
  • Hypothermia – Abnormally low body temperature
  • Hypoglycemia – Abnormally low level of glucose in the blood
  • Rhabdomyolysis – Rare fatal disease that destroy the skeletal muscle and is accompanied by myoglobin excretion in the urine
