Common Cardiovascular Types of Training includes the following:

  • Cardio Circuit – To help increase the Heart Rate, it uses a combination of steady state aerobic activities with resistance training. An example can include a 5 minute jog, set of pull ups, 5 minute sprint,  set of push-ups, 5 minute bike, and a set of weighted squats.
    • Circuits can include high intensity interval training which can further help performance, fitness, and weight management.

  • Cross Training – Uses a variety of exercised within the workout for aerobic performance. The higher the intensity the more you can maximize the benefits, which includes higher endurance, improved recovery, conditioning of the muscles, and improve neural focus.

  • Lactic Threshold – It is intended to improve conditioning and lactic acid tolerance, which is the level in which production equals clearance. This type of system would require a steady pace warm-up. Then it requires an increase in intensity beyond the tolerance, to help increase lactic accumulation, for intervals lasting up to five minutes (increase in ventilation and exertion). Last steps are to reduce the intensity to a recovery pace.
