  1. To deload or deloading, is a period of time, when you reduce your intensity of a workout to combat fatigue periods. Therefore, rule of thumb, if you decide to deload, do it for a week. 
  2. Deloading is also a state of mind. To know when to deload is a sign of a mature weightlifter, and deloading has been synonymous to controlling potential damage "or damage control". 
  3. When you deload, you are reducing weight. During this time, PERFECT YOUR MOTION. Impress by perfect movements. 
  4. When you add cardio in this period, keep it at a fat burning mode. High intensity goes against deloading, and you need your body to recover. But also, don't overdo your cardio where you begin to lose some muscle mass. 
  5. Sleep more, learn new exercises, and refuel with the right carbs. You have one week to prepare up for an upcoming series of high intensity workouts. Make sure you recover well and learn more movements to keep your muscles growing by "muscle confusion".
