Mastering Your Romanian Deadlift - How To Start

  • First, know that it requires advance progression.
  • Start with the bar in a power rack. 
  • You can also move the bar on the floor, but starting position shall always start in your hips.
  • Legs should only bend slightly. 
  • Lower the bar just below the knees and restart, NOT ROUNDING your back.
  • Work on the hip mechanics.
  • We know we said it already, but DON'T ROUND your back.
  • Know that the Romanian Deadlifts help with overall physical performance and explosion.
  • Squeeze and contract muscles on the way up.
  • Once you feel comfortable with the bar, then start adding weight.
