Practical guideline for healthy eating:
  • Balance food intake, practice balance levels of physical activity, and maintain a healthy weight, while choosing a diet moderate in fat, but lower in saturated and trans-fat
  • Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods, inclusive of vegetables, fruits, and high fiber foods; while avoiding large amounts of food additives/supplements (rule of thumb is the lower the ingredient label, typically, the closer to the natural state)
  • Keep salt, sodium, and alcohol intake conservative and in moderation; cut back significantly on soft drinks or juices filled with simple sugars.
  • Practice food hygiene and safety
