Perpetual Hope, Beyond Any Reasonable Doubt

​I write to you today, as a proud soldier 
In battles worth fighting for, complete exposure
Always looking forward, as you protect me, two right shoulders
Placing our victory flag, amongst the eclipses, lunar and solar

​I write to you today, soul tattooed by the rhythm of our poetry
Our shapes in perfect symmetry
The angles of our geometry
For I was carbon, and you my diamond, pure chemistry

​I write to you today, painting the portrait of our essence 
The Claroscuro of our sun and moon, pure luminescence
The tapestry, our blankets of our adolescence
The engraving, the beams of our future, pure fluorescence

I write to remember, Time is the pounding traces of hope
Holding for dear life, once upon a time, strands of rope
Signed, sealed, and forever out, mail that envelope
Then you, saved by midnight of stars and planets, telescope

​I write to remember, screams of whispers belted out
Strikeout after knockout
Washout after sellout 
Then you, perpetual hope, proof beyond any doubt

To simply say
Thank you for making my day
And forever, finding our way
